Episode VIII: She Means Business

Robert Baker, Founder, Potentia Talent Consulting

This week on She Means Business, I’m doing something a little different. For the first time, I’ve invited a man into a conversation usually reserved for women - not to centre himself, but to interrogate power alongside us.

My guest is Robert Baker, Founder of Potentia Talent Consulting, and a fierce advocate for gender equity in the workplace. Robert spent more than four decades at Mercer, where he rose to Senior Partner and led Diversity & Inclusion Consulting internationally, advising some of the world’s most influential organisations on leadership, culture, and talent. He is also a Trustee of UN Women UK and was recognised as an Agent of Change for his work advancing gender balance and inclusive leadership.

This isn’t a conversation about polished frameworks or performative allyship. It’s about lived experience, accountability, and what happens when those who hold power choose to use it differently, and why women’s advancement simply cannot happen without men being actively engaged in the work.

Thoughtful, honest, and occasionally uncomfortable. Exactly as it should be.
