Black women Leaders

Label me as an angry Black woman because this is deeply personal. Wake up and smell the smoke. Just like Diane Abbott, every Black woman routinely face threats of violence in our everyday lives. Why should we place our trust in a system that evidently works against us? Is it any surprise that we are filled with anger and completely justified in feeling this way?

👨🏻 To all the White privileged men in positions of power who overlook our presence, I want to highlight the exceptional talent you're missing out on. Black women possess remarkable abilities that defy all odds. Despite being marginalized from the start, subjected to dehumanization, objectification, and limited opportunities, we continue to surpass expectations. Your actions have only made us more resilient, pushing us to work twice as hard as our counterparts to achieve a fraction of the recognition. Despite the barriers you've erected, we rise above.

🖐🏿 Diane Abbott stood up 46 times during the Prime Minister's question time to no doubt inquire about Frank Hester, a man with clear racist animosity towards her and possibly harboring hatred towards all black women. However, her queries were blatantly disregarded. Would that provoke your frustration? White men in positions of power consistently demonstrate their implicit bias against Black women. They appear more inclined to ignore the issue rather than confront the evidence and data highlighting systemic racism and gender discrimination within our government and broader society.

🗣 Listening to the smooth-talking White politicians justify why they won't return Mr. Wonder Bread's £10 million donation to the Tories, despite his overtly racist remarks about Ms. Abbott and Black women, made me feel disgusted. It's a stark reminder that in the realm of power, money reigns supreme.

Consider this: What would be the response if a prominent Black woman made similar remarks about a powerful, wealthy White man? Reflect on it and observe the outcome. The imagery of tar and feathers come to mind.

I'm frustrated that even after six decades, Black women still face challenges similar to those of the civil rights movement era. While time has progressed, we've often been left behind. To my progressive, stalwart White allies, I urge you to share in this anger - especially my White sisters, because you too experience the gender disparity. Show your support for Black women in meaningful ways. Actions speak louder than words. We seek opportunities, equity, and inclusion, not just empathy. We need to drive positive change together. #diversityequityinclusion #blackwomenleaders #violenceagainstwomen
